Record Complaints Hit Jazz as PTA Handles 1,619 Telecom Grievances

ISLAMABAD โ€“ Thousands of Jazz users in Pakistan have reported issues like dropped calls, slow internet, and network disruptions, prompting action from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Jazz emerged as the telecom operator with the highest number of complaints, followed closely by Zong, Telenor, and Ufone. PTA worked diligently to address the concerns, resolving most cases with remarkable efficiency.

The complaints covered a broad spectrum, including Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Long-Distance International (LDI) services, Wireless Local Loop (WLL), and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

During the period, PTA received 4,917 complaints and successfully resolved 4,736, achieving an overall resolution rate of 96.36%. The majority of complaints targeted mobile operators due to their widespread use.

Among CMOs, Jazz users lodged 1,619 complaints, of which 1,598 were resolved, marking a 98.7% resolution rate. Zong followed with 957 of 986 complaints settled (97.06%). Telenor addressed 927 of 953 cases, and Ufone resolved 553 of 602 complaints, reaching a 91.86% success rate.

Fixed-line services and ISPs also saw significant complaints. PTCL received 175 complaints, resolving 167 (95.43%), while ISPs faced 768 complaints, successfully addressing 703 (91.54%).

PTA emphasized that these efforts reflect its commitment to keeping Pakistan connected and ensuring accountability across telecom operators. Users were encouraged to report issues promptly, with the authority assuring swift resolution.

The high number of complaints against Jazz highlights the challenges facing telecom users in Pakistan, particularly during peak usage periods. PTA continues to monitor network performance and urges operators to improve service quality to meet customer expectations.
