Meta Platforms Hit by Major Outage Across the US

Meta

Meta-owned platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, are facing a significant outage in the US, impacting thousands of users. According to Downdetector, over 10,000 reports have been submitted, with Instagram experiencing the most disruption. While the outage is primarily in the US, users in India have also reported issues.

Around 67% of Instagram users are facing problems, including login issues and server connection troubles. The outage, which began in the morning, has caused widespread disruptions across multiple US regions.

Despite the widespread reports, Meta has not officially acknowledged the outage, and their status page claims that all services are operating normally. However, disruptions have also affected Workplace from Meta and Messenger.

This incident follows a series of disruptions last year, including a global outage in March affecting Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Many users have taken to alternative social media platforms, like Twitter, to express frustration and seek updates.
