NASA re-establishes contact with the Voyager 2 Probe

NASA has achieved a successful reconnection with the Voyager 2 spacecraft after facing a communication loss and challenges in realigning its antenna due to conflicting signals from Earth. Nevertheless, NASA effectively employed its most potent transmitter to send an “interstellar shout,” thereby enhancing the probe’s antenna alignment. This achievement led to the restoration of communication, with data reception from Voyager 2 commencing on August 4.

The “interstellar shout” was transmitted from a facility located in Canberra, Australia. The commands took 18.5 hours to reach the spacecraft, and the return journey required 37 hours, contributing to the delay in progress updates due to the extended transmission process.
