Sajid Ali Sadpara Summits Mount Makalu Without Supplemental Oxygen

Pakistan’s renowned mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara has successfully climbed Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak. The mountain stands at 8,485 meters and is known for its technical difficulty. The climb was completed without the use of supplemental oxygen.

According to expedition organizer Seven Summit Treks, Sajid Ali Sadpara reached the summit at 5:00am on May 2. He was part of a team that included climber Johannes Lau and seven Sherpas. The entire team completed the expedition successfully despite the challenging conditions.

Mount Makalu is considered one of the toughest peaks in the world. Its steep slopes and unpredictable weather make it a demanding climb. Completing this ascent without oxygen adds to the level of difficulty and highlights strong physical and mental endurance.

This achievement marks an important milestone for Sajid Ali Sadpara. He is currently on a mission to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters without supplemental oxygen. With this success, he has now completed 10 of those peaks.

Sajid arrived in Nepal on April 4 to begin preparations. He reached the base camp on April 16 and completed his summit rotation on April 25. Careful planning and acclimatization played a key role in his success.

Sajid Ali Sadpara is the son of legendary climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara. His father lost his life during a winter expedition on K2 in 2021. Sajid has continued his father’s legacy by representing Pakistan on the global mountaineering stage.

Officials and experts have praised the achievement. President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Irfan Arshad, congratulated Sajid and called it a proud moment for the country. Vice President Karrar Haidri also appreciated his dedication and performance.

The 29-year-old climber has already summited major peaks, including Mount Everest, K2, and Nanga Parbat. His growing list of achievements has earned him recognition in the international climbing community.
