Sindh IT Company Partners With Moitt To Launch DEEP Project

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and the Sindh IT Company (SITC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP) in Sindh. The initiative aims to accelerate digital governance and enhance service delivery across the province.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the Additional Secretary MoITT and the CEO of Sindh IT Company, while IT & Telecom Minister Shaza Fatima witnessed the event. The agreement establishes a framework for federal–provincial collaboration to create a unified national digital ecosystem.

Under the partnership, MoITT will act as the sponsoring agency, providing funding, technical support, and policy guidance while overseeing nationwide implementation. Key initiatives under DEEP include the National Digital Services Portal, Pakistan Digital ID, Digital Vaults, the Pakistan Business Portal, and the National Data Exchange Layer.

Speaking at the event, Minister Shaza Fatima highlighted that DEEP’s launch in Sindh is a significant step toward realizing the vision of a digital Pakistan. She noted that the project will improve governance, streamline service delivery, and foster innovation and economic growth.

The Sindh IT Company will manage local execution of DEEP components, coordinating with provincial government departments for data integration, infrastructure development, and capacity building. This collaboration ensures that stakeholders in Sindh are equipped with modern digital tools to implement efficient governance practices.

Officials emphasized that DEEP aligns federal and provincial efforts, aiming to deliver transparent, citizen-centric digital services. The project is expected to create long-term socio-economic benefits, including enhanced public service efficiency and expanded opportunities for innovation in Sindh.

By leveraging the expertise of Sindh IT Company, the DEEP initiative positions Sindh as a leader in Pakistan’s digital transformation, supporting the country’s broader goal of building a connected, inclusive, and technology-driven economy.
