SpaceX Expands Starlink Network with Latest Launch

SpaceX successfully launched 23 Starlink internet satellites into orbit today (Jan. 24) from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 9:07 a.m. EST, marking another step forward in SpaceX’s ambitious satellite internet program.

The rocket’s first stage returned to Earth just eight minutes after liftoff, landing on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean. This recovery marked SpaceX’s 401st successful booster landing, highlighting its advancements in reusable rocket technology.

This booster, which has now flown 23 missions, delivered the satellites to low Earth orbit. The 11th Falcon 9 mission of 2025, it represents the seventh this year dedicated to Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation with over 6,900 operational satellites.

The Starlink program aims to provide high-speed internet globally, particularly in remote and underserved areas. With each launch, SpaceX moves closer to its goal of achieving worldwide coverage.
