Minecraft, already established as one of the highest-selling video games in history, has now achieved a significant milestone by selling 300 million copies worldwide.
Helen Chiang, the head of Mojang Studios, remarked, “Approaching its 15th anniversary, Minecraft continues to be one of the top-selling games of all time, with over 300 million copies sold, a remarkable achievement that exceeded anyone’s expectations when we were all taking our first steps in the game world.”

This achievement was disclosed during the Minecraft Live 2023 event, which serves as a platform for sharing news and community updates. It also features an engaging voting event, allowing players to choose which new creature should be incorporated into the game.
To put this in perspective, the second highest-selling video game of all time, Grand Theft Auto V, has sold only 185 million copies, while the best-selling console, the PS2, sold 155 million units. Minecraft’s sales outshine both of these benchmarks.
