WhatsApp Rolls Out New Feature to Forward Messages Directly to Meta AI

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets users forward messages, images, and videos directly to Meta AI, streamlining interaction with the artificial intelligence system. Currently available only to select beta testers on Android (version 2.25.18.8), the update removes the previous need to copy and paste content into Meta AI chats.

With this new functionality, users can forward content instantly and even add notes for context, helping Meta AI understand questions or requests better. For instance, a user might send a photo along with a question like, “Is this image authentic?” which improves the relevance of AI responses.

The feature gives users full control over what they share, and forwarding remains optional. Any shared content may be used by Meta to enhance its AI capabilities. WhatsApp plans to expand access beyond beta testers and eventually include all users on the stable version.

This update marks another step toward integrating AI tools within popular messaging apps, making it easier for users to seek quick information or assistance directly through WhatsApp.
