Windows Users Encounter Major Outages And Laptop Crashes After a Crowdstrike Update

Millions of Windows Users across the globe are experiencing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error which is causing the system to suddenly shut down or restart. Microsoft in a message said that the error is being caused due to a recent CrowdStrike update. The bug has affected several companies, banks and government offices across the globe.

Many have shared screenshots showing the message, “It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly. If you’d like to restart and try again, choose Restart my PC below.” Reports indicate that the Blue Screen of Death error is affecting banking institutions, supermarkets, media companies, and even TV and radio studios in the U.S.

The cause of the Microsoft outage remains unverified, though Crowdstrike has acknowledged the issue and is investigating. Large multinational companies in India are also facing the problem, which seems limited to Windows-based desktops and laptops.

On social media, users have noted widespread issues, with one commenting, “Something super weird happening right now: several media outlets just called, all experiencing Blue Screen of Death. Anyone else seeing this? It seems to be entering recovery mode.”
