The KP government prohibits resignation from medical teaching institutions.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has stated that it will no longer issue no objection certificates to staff of medical teaching institutions (MTIs) seeking to leave.

This move was made in reaction to numerous top executives at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) desiring to quit after the chairman of the board of governors was replaced.

Dr. Zubair Khan, a retired dermatologist, was selected by the temporary government to succeed Dr. Nausherwan Burki, who was instrumental in enacting health reforms during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in 2014.

The Chief Minister’s Advisor on Health has decided to prevent the granting of no-objection certifications and the acceptance of resignations from MTI personnel, according to a notification published by the provincial health department.

Furthermore, the government has replaced the chairman of MTIs, LRH, and Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad, as well as select members of other tertiary care hospital boards.

According to reports, the warning was justified due to the previous administration’s significant decisions, such as the procurement of substantial sums and the recruitment of numerous workers. As a result, the new administration desires for these persons to be present during the power transition.
