Eid celebrations turned somber as a tragic accident in Hub claimed the lives of five police officers and injured three others when their vehicle overturned.

The incident occurred near Wandar Dubai Mosque after the police vehicle lost control due to a tire burst. The injured officers were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Additional police personnel injured in the accident were transported to the district hospital in Othal for medical assistance.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged the incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased officers.

In a separate incident in Karachi’s Sachal area, three police officers were injured when assailants hurled a hand grenade at their vehicle, causing injuries to the officers.
