Hyderabad Juvenile Jail Head Constable Arrested for Child Inmate’s Rape

A police head constable has been taken into custody for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor at a juvenile detention center in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan.

The accused, identified as Ghulam Haider Chandio, was assigned to a ward within the facility. His arrest was made following directives issued by the court.

The victim accused the officer of sexual assault during a court hearing, prompting the judge to order the immediate arrest of the suspect and the initiation of legal proceedings against him.

Authorities stated that a medical examination of the child would be conducted as part of the investigation into the allegations.

In Pakistan, juvenile offenders are housed in designated facilities such as Youth Offenders Industrial Schools and Borstal Institutes, which operate in Punjab (Faisalabad, Bahawalpur) and Sindh (Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur).
