The ICC has unveiled the prize money details for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to begin on February 19.
Returning for the first time since 2017, the tournament will feature eight teams competing for a grand prize of $2.24 million (USD). The runner-up will receive $1.12 million, while teams reaching the semi-finals will each earn $560,000. The total prize pool has seen a significant 53% increase from the previous edition, reaching $6.9 million.

With every match holding significance, a group stage victory will be rewarded with $34,000. Teams securing the 5th and 6th positions will receive $350,000 each, whereas those finishing 7th and 8th will take home $140,000. Additionally, all eight teams will be guaranteed $125,000 for participating in the event.
This tournament marks a historic moment as Pakistan hosts an ICC event for the first time since 1996. The 2025 edition will feature eight teams, divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Moving forward, the Men’s Champions Trophy will be held every four years, bringing together the top eight ODI teams, while the Women’s Champions Trophy is set to debut in 2027 as a T20 event.
ICC Chair Jay Shah emphasized the tournament’s significance, stating that the 2025 edition revives a competition showcasing elite ODI talent where every game is crucial. He also highlighted that the increased prize money reflects the ICC’s commitment to investing in the sport and upholding the prestige of global cricket events.
Beyond financial incentives, Shah noted that the Champions Trophy sparks intense competition, engages cricket fans worldwide, and plays a vital role in ensuring the growth and long-term sustainability of the sport.
