A judicial magistrate sentenced a man to nine years in prison on Thursday for distributing obscene photos and videos of a woman on social media.
The Judicial Magistrate South announced the decision under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), finding the accused, Muhammad Shoaib, guilty of the offense. Along with the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs90,000.

The court highlighted that Shoaib had a prior conviction in a similar case in 2017, with his appeal still awaiting resolution in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
It stated that he had been harassing the victim by circulating inappropriate content online, deliberately attempting to harm her reputation.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Shoaib, who was previously engaged to the victim, shared her private photos and videos after their engagement was called off.
