London Shines Bright for Ramadan for the Third Consecutive Year

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has officially inaugurated the Ramadan lights in central London, marking the city as the first in the Western world to showcase them for a third consecutive year.

During the ceremony, Khan emphasized that the tradition symbolizes London’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. “It is an honor to continue this initiative, reaffirming our dedication to recognizing and respecting all faiths,” he stated.

He also addressed the issue of Islamophobia, underscoring the importance of engaging with local communities. “Misinformation about Muslims is often spread,” Khan noted. “We must present the true essence of Islamβ€”one that embraces prayer, charity, and interfaith harmony.”

Additionally, Khan shared his thoughts on the ICC Champions Trophy, expressing disappointment over the early exits of both England and Pakistan. However, he acknowledged the tournament’s significance in positioning Pakistan as a secure venue for international cricket.
