Local businesses experienced a surge in customers, with restaurants in Murree, Nathia Gali, and Leepa Valley reporting record sales. “The snow has been a blessing,” said Rashid, a restaurant owner in Nathia Gali, noting the packed houses since Friday evening.
While the heavy snowfall created disruptions, including impassable roads, the Galyat Development Authority (GDA) took immediate action.
They deployed snowploughs and spread salt on the roads to prevent them from becoming slippery, ensuring the safety of visitors. In addition, facilitation centers were set up to assist tourists.
Despite the challenges, tourists enjoyed the snow by engaging in activities like snowball fights, building snowmen, and capturing photos of the beautiful scenery. “It’s a wonderful experience,” said a tourist from Lahore, adding to the magical atmosphere of Murree and Galyat.
