Key contributions came from captain Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Kamran Ghulam, who each scored half-centuries.
The pace attack, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, claimed seven wickets for just 84 runs in 16.1 overs, sealing the win. This victory makes Pakistan the first team in the 21st century to win three ODI series in South Africa.
Pakistan had previously won series in South Africa in 2013 and 2021, with this latest win in 2024 adding to their historic achievement. Out of the seven bilateral ODI series played in South Africa, Pakistan is now the second team to win three or more series, joining Australia, which has won three series there (1997, 2002, 2011).
