Punjab Students to Receive Special Travel Cards for Budget-Friendly Transport

Punjab students have received another positive development as the provincial government has decided to introduce a Special Travel Cards to facilitate their daily commute, particularly in major cities.

The initiative was approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. As part of a broader effort to enhance public services, this travel card aims to provide students with affordable and convenient transportation within the mass transit system.

Alongside the student travel card, the government has also approved several other transport-related initiatives, including free travel for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals. CM Maryam Nawaz has instructed relevant authorities to expedite the implementation of the student travel card, ensuring a smooth and timely rollout. This initiative is expected to significantly benefit students by making their travel to educational institutions and other key locations more accessible and cost-effective.

Additionally, the cabinet discussed plans to introduce a tram service and a specialized transport system for differently-abled individuals, further promoting mobility and inclusivity in the region. The student travel card is considered a crucial step toward improving accessibility and affordability in Punjab’s public transportation network.
