Revolution Begins BYD Rolls Out Electric Cars in Pakistan

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) leader BYD, in partnership with Pakistan’s Mega Motor Company (MMC), has officially begun vehicle deliveries in the country, with an ambitious goal of delivering 100 units within the first 48 hours of operations.

Customers in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad received their BYD vehicles on Friday, following the inauguration of the company’s Experience and Care centres in key cities.

The launch includes BYD’s SEAL and ATTO 3 models, with the company planning to open 15 centres across Pakistan by 2025 to cater to the rising demand for new energy vehicles (NEVs).

Lei Jian, BYD’s Country Head for Pakistan, emphasized the significance of this step in Pakistan’s transition to sustainable transportation. He highlighted BYD’s commitment to technological advancements for a greener future, expressing confidence that NEVs will play a key role in Pakistan’s eco-friendly development.

MMC, a subsidiary of Hub Power Company (HUBCO), is at the forefront of local manufacturing, distribution, and sales of BYD-branded electric vehicles. Danish Khaliq, MMC’s Vice President of Sales and Strategy, described this as a groundbreaking moment, bringing cutting-edge NEV technology to Pakistan.

As the world’s largest NEV manufacturer, BYD has expanded across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Its entry into Pakistan aligns with the country’s increasing focus on alternative fuel vehicles, aiming to reduce dependence on traditional gasoline and diesel-powered cars.
