Healthcare in less developed areas continues to struggle with quality disparities, highlighted by a viral video showing a patient receiving oxygen via a bicycle pump at Umerkot District Hospital.
The footage sparked discussions about the state of healthcare in Sindh’s southeastern region, as it depicts unconventional methods used for patient nebulization, raising concerns about government-run medical facilities.

In response to the alarming video, the Deputy Commissioner ordered a report from the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS).
However, the MS denied the video’s claims, labeling it fake and asserting that the hospital is equipped with a proper oxygen system.
While the clip’s authenticity remains under scrutiny, it has ignited a debate about the declining healthcare conditions in the area, prompting calls for accountability and necessary improvements in medical services.
