Sherfane Rutherford was the standout performer of the match, delivering an exceptional batting display. His unbeaten 68 off 39 deliveries, featuring six sixes and two fours, propelled the West Indies from a challenging position of 76 for 7 in 12.3 overs to a competitive total of 149 for 9.
The West Indies bowlers then rose to the occasion, restricting New Zealand to 136 for 9 in 19 overs. Gudakesh Motie, with his left-arm spin, produced an impressive spell, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs.
