A five-year-old girl in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly raped by her neighbor, leaving her with severe bite marks on her face and private parts. Reports indicate that she required 28 stitches due to the extent of her injuries.
The accused, a 17-year-old, has been arrested and is being tried as a juvenile, as per police reports. The victim is currently fighting for her life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kamala Raja Hospital in Gwalior, according to News report.

Medical experts cited in the report stated that the girl’s private parts were severely damaged, necessitating a complex surgical procedure to reconstruct the affected areas.
Incident Details
The assault reportedly took place on February 22 when the accused, allegedly intoxicated, lured the child from her rooftop to an abandoned house nearby. There, he brutally attacked her, repeatedly slamming her head against a wall, as mentioned in the report.
The unconscious girl was later found, and upon regaining consciousness, she revealed to her parents that the accused had taken her in his lap and subjected her to horrific abuse.
Family’s Demand for Justice
The victim’s family has called for the harshest punishment, demanding that the accused either be hanged or shot in public. According to reports, the girl was discovered by her younger brother and other children, who also witnessed the accused at the scene.
Hearing the children’s screams, the accused fled, leaving the girl behind in the abandoned house. After searching for nearly two hours, her parents found her lying in a pool of blood.
Public Outrage and Protests
The incident sparked protests, with members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and local residents gathering at the Shivpuri Collectorate on Monday. Protesters submitted a memorandum to the district collector and superintendent of police, demanding the death penalty for the accused.
Medical Efforts to Save the Child
Doctors at Kamala Raja Hospital, who performed emergency surgery, stated that the girl was admitted in an extremely critical condition, with minimal chances of survival. However, the medical team managed to stabilize her.
Due to internal trauma, doctors had to place 28 stitches on her private parts and perform a colostomy, as reported.
