Industries Secretary N. Yuvaraj reported that rescue operations have been completed. Officials suspect that the explosion was caused by a malfunction in a chemical reactor, specifically involving methyl tert-butyl ether.

The authorities are examining CCTV footage and interviewing the injured to determine if human error played a role.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a vapor leak may have led to a chemical reaction, resulting in the explosion. The company, Escientia Advanced Sciences, has yet to comment on the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. This tragic event follows a similar fire in the district last year at Sahithi Pharma, which resulted in two deaths and five injuries.
