Four Palestinian Journalists Nominated for 2024 Nobel Peace Prize

Four Palestinian journalists have been nominated for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of their courageous reporting during Israel’s conflict with Gaza.

The nominees include:

1) Motaz Azaiza – Photojournalist

2) Hind Khoudary – TV reporter

3) Bisan Owda – Journalist and Activist

4) Wael Al-Dahdouh – Veteran Reporter

Their reporting has offered crucial insights into the ongoing violence in Gaza. Azaiza, one of the nominees, shared his recognition on social media, expressing hope for peace in Palestine. Previously known for showcasing daily life and beauty in Gaza, Azaiza gained prominence for his wartime coverage of Palestinian struggles.

The Health Ministry of Palestine reports that the current Israeli assault on Gaza has resulted in over 40,405 Palestinian deaths and 93,356 injuries.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has received 285 nominations for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize, including 196 individuals and 89 organizations, highlighting a diverse range of peace advocates from conflict areas like Gaza and Ukraine.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced on October 11, with the award ceremony taking place on December 10, continuing the tradition of honoring those dedicated to peace and human rights amidst adversity.
