The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has called for a nationwide audit and recommended the cancellation of Gerry’s Dnata’s license following allegations of a multibillion-rupee fraud. The development comes after an internal investigation reportedly uncovered discrepancies in financial transactions and tax filings.
According to FTO sources, the alleged fraud involves major financial irregularities, prompting authorities to review the company’s operations across Pakistan. The audit is expected to cover multiple branches and scrutinize accounting practices, compliance with tax regulations, and contractual obligations.
The FTO has emphasized that strong regulatory action is necessary to prevent further financial losses and ensure transparency in corporate operations. Gerry’s Dnata, a prominent aviation and cargo service provider, has yet to issue an official response to the FTO’s recommendations.
Experts say this move highlights the government’s increasing focus on financial accountability and stricter enforcement of corporate governance standards, especially in sectors handling large-scale transactions.
