Gaza Civil Defence Reports Fatalities as Violence Continues Despite Ceasefire

GAZA – The Gaza civil defence agency reported new deaths in different areas of the Palestinian territory. Officials said four people were killed, including a child, in separate incidents.

According to the Gaza civil defence spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal, the victims were struck in multiple locations. The incidents occurred despite an ongoing ceasefire that began on October 10.

In one case, a 9-year-old boy named Saleh Badawi was killed in Gaza City. He was reportedly hit by Israeli fire in the Zeitoun neighbourhood. He was later taken to Al-Maamadani Hospital.

The Gaza civil defence agency also reported another deadly strike in northern Gaza. Two brothers were killed near a school in Beit Lahia. Officials said they died following a drone attack in the area.

In a separate incident in southern Gaza, a 38-year-old man was also killed. He was identified as Mohsen Ouda Al-Dabbari. He was reportedly hit by Israeli fire near Khan Yunis.

The Israeli military stated it had targeted two individuals in Beit Lahia. It claimed they crossed into an area marked under Israeli control. The army described them as posing an immediate threat.

However, the Gaza civil defence agency has continued to report civilian casualties across the region. It has raised concerns about ongoing violence despite the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli authorities also said they were reviewing reports related to the other fatalities. These include the child and the man killed in separate southern incidents.

According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least 766 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began. The ministry is operated under Hamas administration. Its figures are considered credible by the United Nations.

The Israeli military has also reported losses during this period. It confirmed that five soldiers have been killed since the truce started.

The situation remains tense on the ground. The Gaza civil defence continues to monitor incidents and report casualties. Restrictions and limited access in the region make independent verification difficult.
