Hamas has turned down Israel’s latest proposal for a temporary truce, instead pushing for a full-scale agreement that would end the Gaza war entirely. Senior Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya said the group is only willing to negotiate a “comprehensive package” — including a permanent ceasefire, the release of all Palestinian prisoners, and Gaza’s reconstruction.

Al-Hayya accused Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu of using partial truces as a political tool to prolong the war and ignore the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Mediated talks in Cairo ended without progress. Israel’s offer included a 45-day pause and hostage exchanges, but Hamas rejected demands like disarmament, calling them “impossible.”
Israel has resumed its military offensive, stating it won’t stop until all hostages are freed and Hamas is dismantled. Meanwhile, Hamas remains firm on a total ceasefire before any hostage releases.
