ICJ Deems Israeli Presence in Palestinian Territories Illegal

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a non-binding advisory opinion on Friday declaring that Israel’s continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territories is illegal and should cease “as rapidly as possible.”

The court further emphasized that Israel is obligated to compensate for the damages resulting from its occupation.
