‘US Will Pay the Price’, Says Iran After Civilian Deaths in Qeshm Attack

'US Will Pay the Price', Says Iran After Civilian Deaths in Qeshm Attack

Iran has strongly criticized the United States following the reported Qeshm attack, accusing Washington of carrying out strikes on civilian areas. The accusations came as tensions continued to rise across the region after several days of military exchanges.

Iranโ€™s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, condemned the reported strikes and described them as another act against innocent people. He claimed that residential homes on Qeshm Island were hit during the latest operation.

According to Ghalibaf, the Qeshm attack followed similar incidents that reportedly took place in the cities of Minab and Lamerd. He said these attacks reflected a pattern of targeting civilian locations.

The Iranian official also accused the United States of responding to military setbacks by harming civilians. He warned that those responsible would eventually face consequences for their actions.

The latest escalation came after the United States reportedly carried out a new wave of military strikes. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation followed a five-night pause in attacks.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes ended at around 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday. The US military said the operation was launched in response to Iranian missile attacks on American forces stationed at a military base in Jordan one day earlier.

Iranian state media reported that three civilians were killed during the latest US strikes. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also announced that three of its personnel died in what it described as a US missile attack.

Following the US operation, Jordan and Kuwait reported that Iranian strikes had reached their territories on Thursday. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that one person was killed in the incident.

Meanwhile, the IRGC Aerospace Force claimed it carried out ballistic missile attacks on Jordanโ€™s Al Azraq Air Base. The group said the strikes were retaliation for the previous night’s attacks on Iran.

According to Iranian media, the IRGC claimed the operation destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and killed several American military officers and personnel. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

The IRGC also stated that it would continue its military campaign until what it described as the withdrawal of the “last American occupier” from the region. It also accused the US military of harming civilians during the conflict.

The Qeshm attack has further increased regional tensions, with both sides exchanging accusations after the latest military operations. Independent verification of several battlefield claims from both parties remains unavailable, making the full impact of the recent exchanges difficult to confirm.
