Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Abul Fath al-Bayanuni shared a touching story about his grandfather, Shaykh Isa al-Bayanuni of Halab. The scholar’s life was marked by deep devotion and love for Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Every year, Shaykh Isa would begin his sacred journey in Madinah. He spent several days there immersed in prayer and remembrance before traveling to Makkah. In Makkah, he studied and reflected spiritually with Sayyid ‘Alawi al-Maliki, strengthening his knowledge and connection to faith.
It is narrated that during one such journey, Shaykh Isa saw the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in a dream. In the dream, he was told that a special place had been prepared for him in Madinah. This vision deeply moved the scholar and reinforced his lifelong dedication to God and His Messenger.
Later that year, upon returning to Madinah, Shaykh Isa fell ill. Within days, he peacefully passed away. He was laid to rest in Jannat al-Baqi, one of the holiest cemeteries in Islam. Scholars who visited his grave shared remarkable observations about his sincerity, devotion, and spiritual accomplishments.
Shaykh Isa was also known for his poetry, which expressed profound love and admiration for the Prophet (SAW). His writings reflected a lifetime of piety, reflection, and spiritual discipline, inspiring generations of scholars and students.
This story highlights how a dream can carry deep spiritual significance and how devotion in life can leave lasting impressions on faith communities. Shaykh Isa al-Bayanuni’s life and the dream he experienced remind believers of the importance of sincerity, prayer, and love for the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
