First Lady Melania Trump was honored with the prestigious “Patriot of the Year” award at Fox Nation’s seventh annual Patriot Awards ceremony held on Thursday. The event, hosted by Sean Hannity, celebrated individuals who exemplify courage, service, and love for their country.
During her acceptance speech, Melania Trump encouraged Americans to “dare to think differently,” describing innovation as “a form of patriotism.” She praised the founding spirit of the United States, saying that “personal achievement fuels collective progress,” and emphasized that pursuing one’s dreams is central to the American identity.
The former First Lady was recognized for her global advocacy, particularly her humanitarian work supporting children affected by the war in Ukraine. She revealed that her diplomatic communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin helped initiate a “peace letter” delivered during an August summit in Alaska. This effort reportedly led to the reunification of eight abducted Ukrainian children with their families.
Ukraine’s First Lady later sent a personal note of thanks to Melania, delivered by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to the White House, expressing gratitude for her humanitarian involvement.
Melania Trump was also celebrated for her legislative efforts in the United States. In May 2025, she co-signed the bipartisan “TAKE IT DOWN Act,” a law that criminalizes the non-consensual sharing of intimate photos and AI-generated explicit content.
She also played a key role in securing a $25 million federal fund to support housing and services for young people transitioning out of foster care, calling it “a step toward safety, welfare, and independence.”
The Fox Nation Patriot Awards, launched in 2019, continue to honor “ordinary Americans achieving extraordinary things.” This year’s event also introduced a new category dedicated to the late Charlie Kirk, celebrating individuals who promote faith, family, and freedom.
