KARACHI: Pakistan has officially launched a new transit trade route under the TIR system. The development marks a major step in regional connectivity and export growth.
In the latest development, Pakistan Opens a transit corridor connecting Pakistan, Iran, and Central Asia. The first export shipment has already departed from Karachi for Tashkent.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the TIR terminal in Karachi. Officials described it as a significant milestone for land-based trade expansion.
The shipment consists of frozen meat loaded in refrigerated trucks. It is moving through a structured transit route to ensure fast delivery and efficiency.

The transit system is now active at key border stations. These include Taftan, Reemdan, Sost, and Gwadar.

The ceremony was attended by senior customs officials, including DG Customs Tariq Rangoonwala. He called the project an important step for Pakistanโs trade future.
