Prince Harry’s Charity Under Fire: Chad Drops African Parks Over Mismanagement Claims

Prince Harry is facing fresh controversy after Mismanagement Claims surfaced against African Parks, a nonprofit wildlife conservation group where he serves on the board. The organization has been dismissed by the government of Chad following allegations of poor oversight and operational failures.

According to local media reports, African Parks had been managing Zakouma National Park and other protected areas in Chad under an agreement with the government. However, officials accused the group of financial irregularities and ineffective administration, leading to the termination of its contract.

The Mismanagement Claims reportedly center on how funds were handled and whether the organization failed to meet key conservation targets. While the group has denied wrongdoing, Chad’s Environment Ministry said the decision was made to “protect national interests and ensure transparency” in the management of public resources.

Prince Harry, who joined the African Parks board in 2017 and previously served as its president, has not publicly commented on the issue. The organization, however, stated that it remains committed to conservation in Africa and is reviewing the situation in Chad.

African Parks, headquartered in Johannesburg, manages more than 20 parks across the continent in collaboration with governments and local communities. The group is widely recognized for its efforts to restore ecosystems and promote sustainable tourism.

Observers say the Mismanagement Claims could affect the charity’s reputation and ongoing partnerships with African nations. Some conservationists have urged a transparent investigation to determine the validity of the allegations and safeguard the future of regional wildlife programs.

Despite the controversy, African Parks has emphasized that it will continue working toward its mission of protecting Africa’s natural heritage. The group said it hopes to resolve the matter through dialogue and cooperation with Chad’s government.
