RSF Attack in Sudan’s Kalogi Kills 116, Including 46 Children — Horror in South Kordofan

In a shocking incident, RSF attack in Sudan’s Kalogi kills 116, including 46 children, local officials confirmed. The attack struck a kindergarten and other civilian sites in the South Kordofan region.

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reportedly used suicide‑drones to bomb a pre‑school, a hospital, and other civilian buildings. Emergency responders, who rushed to help, were hit in a second wave of strikes.

Local medical sources and the Sudan Doctors Network said the casualties include 46 children, many of them from the kindergarten. More bodies may still be found as rescue work continues.

According to two military‑aligned sources, the attack began on Thursday. The RSF struck the pre‑school first. Later, when people gathered to help the wounded, the militants bombed the area again. A nearby hospital and a government building were also hit.

The region around Kalogi has been under heavy fighting in recent weeks. The conflict has intensified after the fall of El-Fasher in Darfur, raising fears that violence may spread further across strategic zones.

International reactions have been swift. The UNICEF called the attack “a horrific violation of children’s rights.” A representative said that children should never be targets in war.

Human rights groups and medical associations condemned the strike as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. They demanded accountability for the perpetrators and immediate access for aid workers to help survivors.

The death toll may rise further as many wounded are still trapped and rescue operations remain challenged by communications blackouts. Local hospitals are overwhelmed and lack sufficient supplies.

This tragedy underscores the dire humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan. Tens of thousands have died since 2023, and millions are displaced. Aid agencies warn that civilians, especially children, continue to pay the highest price.
