Saudi Arabia has solidified its position as a global leader in humanitarian assistance, providing over $141 billion in aid across 174 countries since 1975. This remarkable achievement underscores the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to alleviating human suffering and promoting global welfare.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), established in 2015, has been at the forefront of these efforts. In the past decade alone, KSrelief has implemented 3,632 projects in 108 countries, valued at more than $8.15 billion. These initiatives have provided vital assistance to millions in regions including Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Somalia. Notably, recent efforts in the Gaza Strip involved delivering over 7,500 tons of aid and 20 ambulances via air and sea bridges.
The Kingdom’s philanthropic endeavors extend beyond governmental initiatives. The Sahem electronic donation platform has raised more than $430 million, reflecting the public’s trust and active participation in charitable activities. Additionally, Saudi Arabia played a pivotal role in the United Nations’ designation of November 24 as World Conjoined Twins Day, highlighting its dedication to global humanitarian causes.
These contributions align with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the nonprofit sector’s role in the national economy and increase volunteerism. The National Center for Non-Profit Sector plays a key role in regulating and supervising the sector, ensuring that charitable efforts are effectively coordinated and impactful.
