SIARA 2025 Receives 790 Global Submissions, Expanding Participation Across Asia And Africa

The Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support (SIARA) 2025 has recorded a major milestone this year. Organizers confirmed that SIARA 2025 receives 790 global submissions, expanding participation across Asia and Africa and marking one of the award’s widest outreach efforts so far.

Launched by The Big Heart Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the award recognizes humanitarian organizations working for displaced communities. The large number of entries reflects the growing interest in highlighting refugee advocacy and innovative support projects worldwide.

Officials said the award attracted submissions from both well-known organizations and smaller grassroots groups. Many of these entries came from Asia and Africa, regions that host some of the world’s largest refugee populations. The recognition is expected to encourage more impactful initiatives that address humanitarian challenges.

According to the organizers, SIARA 2025 receives 790 global submissions, expanding participation across Asia and Africa, showing how civil society is playing a stronger role in humanitarian response. They added that the award continues to serve as a platform for sharing best practices and inspiring cross-border cooperation.

The SIARA award, established in 2017, aims to honor exceptional work that improves the lives of refugees and internally displaced persons. Over the years, it has helped shine a spotlight on projects that provide education, healthcare, shelter, and livelihood opportunities.

Experts note that the record number of submissions in 2025 signals increasing awareness about refugee rights and the need for sustainable support systems. The jury will now evaluate the entries, and the winners will be announced later this year at a ceremony in Sharjah.

By highlighting such efforts, the award continues to promote global solidarity. The fact that SIARA 2025 receives 790 global submissions, expanding participation across Asia and Africa confirms its role as one of the most inclusive platforms for humanitarian recognition.
