Spokesman Rejects U.S. Claims On Iran Talks Amid Tensions

Spokesman Rejects U.S. Claims On Iran Talks Amid Tensions

On Wednesday, Iran’s top official strongly criticized U.S. statements regarding recent negotiations, saying, “Do not disguise your defeat as an agreement.” The comments came after U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from a strict 48-hour deadline to target Iran’s energy facilities.

The spokesman rejects claims that the U.S. and Iran had productive talks. Trump had posted on Truth Social that “very good and constructive conversations” took place over two days. However, insiders familiar with the matter revealed no official communication occurred between Washington and Tehran.

“The era of your promises is over,” the Iranian official said. He added that the world now stands divided between truth and falsehood. “Freedom-seeking advocates of truth will not be deceived by your media campaigns,” he emphasized.

The spokesman rejects suggestions that internal U.S. disagreements affected the decision. He sarcastically questioned whether the “inner struggle” within Washington had reached the stage of negotiating with itself.

On economic matters, the official said past U.S. investment levels and pre-war energy prices will not return. “Regional stability is guaranteed by the powerful hand of our armed forces,” he added, stressing that Iran maintains stability through its strength.

He also warned that prior conditions will never be restored unless military threats against Iran are completely removed. “Our first and last word from day one has been, is, and will be: people like us can never get along with people like you—not now, and not ever,” the spokesman concluded.

The remarks highlight growing tensions between the two nations and underline Iran’s firm stance on defending its sovereignty. Analysts say such statements are likely to complicate diplomatic efforts and increase regional uncertainty.

With the spokesman rejects repeated for emphasis, Iran signals its unwillingness to accept U.S. pressure. The comments serve as a reminder of the deep mistrust between Tehran and Washington, even amid claims of dialogue.
