Schools across the UAE will begin their winter vacation on December 8, 2025, according to the Ministry of Educationโs approved academic calendar. The break will continue until January 4, 2026.
Teaching and administrative staff in the UAE will start their winter break a week later, on December 15. The calendar also schedules make-up examinations from December 8 to 12, coinciding with the first days of the student holiday.
The second semester of the 2025-2026 school year will commence on January 5, 2026. Schools will review and release first-semester results between January 7 and 9. During December 8-12, teachers and administrative staff will also participate in the third round of specialized professional training.
The first semester consists of 67 instructional days spread over 14 weeks. The second semester is shorter, covering 47 instructional days over approximately nine weeks. The third semester will begin on March 30, 2026, with 64 instructional days over about 13 weeks. This term will include five official holidays in the UAE.
In total, the 2025-2026 academic year will have around 178 instructional days. Schools are scheduled to conclude the academic cycle no earlier than June 26, 2026.
Officials emphasize that the detailed calendar will help students, parents, and staff plan holidays, exams, and professional training efficiently. Schools are encouraged to adhere strictly to the schedule to ensure smooth operations throughout the academic year.
The Ministry of Educationโs announcement ensures that students in the UAE have a balanced schedule, combining study, professional development for teachers, and sufficient holiday time for rest and recreation.
