Ukraine Issues New Air Alerts Following Massive Russian Attack

On Tuesday, Ukrainian authorities issued air raid alerts across much of the country after Kyiv’s air force detected the launch of Russian bombers from western Russia. The air force noted that multiple Tu-95MS bombers had taken off from Engels airfield and estimated that missiles could reach Ukrainian airspace around 4:00 am (0100 GMT).

UN nuclear watchdog head Rafael Grossi is set to visit Russia’s Kursk nuclear plant to independently assess the situation following Ukraine’s unprecedented cross-border offensive into the Russian region.

US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the Russia-Ukraine conflict on Monday, after Modi’s visit to Ukraine.

Poland reported that a drone likely entered its airspace early Monday morning during a Russian bombardment of Ukraine. Authorities are investigating whether the drone landed on Polish territory.

The United States condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine’s power grid and pledged continued support for Kyiv. Kyiv has urged its allies to provide long-range strike capabilities to help end the “Russian terror” following Monday’s massive Russian strike on Ukraine.
