Ukraine launched its most extensive drone attack on Moscow early Tuesday, killing one person and causing fires across the Russian capital. The attack led to major disruptions, including the suspension of flights and train services.

According to Russian officials, 337 drones were launched overnight, with 91 targeting Moscow. The city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, confirmed this was the largest Ukrainian drone assault to date. Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that apart from the fatality, three others were injured, and several buildings sustained damage.

The strikes forced Russian aviation authorities to close airports in Moscow, Yaroslavl, and Nizhny Novgorod. Residential areas and a train station in Domodedovo, south of Moscow, were also hit, causing evacuations. Videos circulating on Russian Telegram channels showed fires erupting due to the attacks.

The assault coincided with US-Ukraine peace talks in Saudi Arabia. Kyiv claims its strikes target infrastructure aiding Russia’s war efforts, while Moscow accuses Ukraine of escalating the conflict. The ongoing war has claimed thousands of lives, with heavy losses on both sides.
