US-Iran Talks End With “No Deal” After Marathon Negotiations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – Talks between the United States and Iran ended with No Deal after more than 20 hours of negotiations in Islamabad. The high-level discussions were mediated by Pakistan and aimed at easing tensions between the two countries.

US Vice President JD Vance confirmed that both sides failed to reach an agreement. He said the United States clearly presented its “red lines,” but Iran did not accept the terms. As a result, the lengthy dialogue concluded with No Deal, despite several rounds of proposals and discussions.

The negotiations lasted nearly 21 hours and were described as intense and detailed. Officials discussed key issues such as nuclear policy, economic sanctions, and regional conflicts. However, major differences remained unresolved throughout the talks.

A central issue was the US demand for strong guarantees that Iran would not develop nuclear weapons. Washington refused to compromise on this point. Iran, on the other hand, rejected these demands. Tehran insisted that progress depends on US “good faith,” including easing sanctions, recognizing its rights, and releasing frozen funds.

Due to these disagreements, both sides were unable to move forward. The outcome highlights a growing gap between the two countries. Even after extended discussions, the talks ended in No Deal, raising concerns about future diplomacy.

Following the failed negotiations, JD Vance left Islamabad abruptly on Sunday. His departure came soon after it became clear that no agreement would be reached. The sudden exit reflected the seriousness of the deadlock.

Despite the outcome, Vance praised Pakistan’s role in hosting and mediating the talks. He acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. However, he did not provide details about how the failed talks might affect the temporary ceasefire.

The failure to secure a deal after such long negotiations has raised fresh concerns. Analysts warn that tensions could increase if diplomatic efforts continue to stall.
