A ceremony commemorating “Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan” is currently underway at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi.
General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, laid a floral wreath on the Yaadgar-e-Shuhada (martyrs’ monument). Qamar Javed Bajwa, the former chief of the army, is also present.
The nation is commemorating the day to pay rich tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives in the service of the motherland and its people.
On this occasion, a guard of honour was presented in honour of martyres, and a special prayer was offered for the departed souls of martyrs.
The ceremony is being attended by people from all walks of life. Pakistan captain Babar Azam, cricketer Muhammad Rizwan, Mufti Muneebur Rehman, and Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad are among them.
Martyrs’ heirs have been specially invited to attend the ceremony.
Numerous events featuring Quran recitations and prayers will be held across the country in honour of the valiant heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
These gatherings will provide a platform for the nation to honour the unwavering dedication and indomitable spirit of the martyrs from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary (FC), Police, and other law enforcement agencies.

Several commemorative ceremonies are planned at martyrs’ memorials at prominent locations such as the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Pakistan Naval Headquarters (PN), and Police Yadgar-e-Suhuda.
These ceremonies will not only pay tribute to the heroes, but will also honour their sacrifices in areas such as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and all provincial capitals.
The Day of Tribute to Pakistan’s Martyrs is a solemn occasion for the nation to express profound gratitude for the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace, security, and prosperity.
Meanwhile, on the eve of Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan, President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that the entire nation was proud of their valiant martyrs who displayed the spirit of patriotism and fearlessness throughout their history.
“The nation owes to the heroism and sacrifices offered by the jawans and officers of our Armed Forces, including the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Air Force, Navy, Police, and other security institutions that made Pakistan’s defence impregnable,” the president said in a message commemorating Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan today (May 25).
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on the other hand, urged the nation on Wednesday to pay tribute to the Shuhada on Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Martyrs Reverence Day), which is observed on Thursday.
Today the nation is solemnly observing Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan to pay its glowing tributes to our heroes, Ghazis, and martyrs and express its unflinching solidarity with their families.

The prime minister urged people, including children, to visit martyrs’ monuments and graves and shower flowers as a sign of affection and respect in a tweet.
On the eve of Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Services Chiefs, retired services officers, and representatives of civil society pay rich tributes to Pakistan’s shuhada (martyrs) who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty to ensure the nation’s, sovereignty, and honour.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, Shuhada’s sacrifices are eternal, will continue to inspire future generations of countrymen, and will never be forgotten, despite vicious propaganda by Pakistan’s enemies.
