Aleema Khan Claims Death Rumors Are A Public Reaction Test

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan is once again at the center of public attention as rumors about his health and alleged death in Adiala Jail spread on social media.

Amid conflicting reports, his sister Aleema Khan claims these stories are deliberate efforts by authorities to conduct a Public Reaction Test. She suggested the government may be playing a psychological game with the masses to gauge public sentiment.

Imran Khan, who has spent more than two years in jail facing multiple cases, reportedly has limited access to his family and legal advisors. This has raised serious concerns among PTI leaders and supporters. Recent reports by Indian media claiming his death added fuel to the controversy, while jail officials insist he is “doing fine.”

Aleema Khan told British media, “We have received no direct information from inside the jail. Even if we were told, we might not believe it. This seems like a spectacle, and they could at least allow one family member to see him.” She further stated that the spread of death rumors appears to be a Public Reaction Test to monitor how people respond. “Someone told us they are pushing it as a test. If the reaction is manageable, maybe nothing will happen to him,” she added.

In response, Khan’s family and party members staged multiple protests and sit-ins outside Adiala Jail. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi recently held a protest outside the jail and promised to return on December 2. Aleema Khan and her sisters ended a separate sit-in after being assured of a meeting next week.

Aleema also raised concerns over Imran Khan’s denied requests, including speaking to his children and accessing his books, which remain withheld. She defended his wife Bushra Bibi against criticism about family influence.

Regarding future PTI protests in Islamabad, Aleema Khan emphasized that Imran Khan has instructed supporters not to gather in the capital. She stressed that the movement he initiated is ongoing, but strict orders remain in place to avoid mass gatherings.

The incident has sparked debates about the ethical implications of using rumors as a Public Reaction Test and highlighted the tense political environment surrounding the former Prime Minister.
