A Pakistani woman from Sadiqabad has alleged that she was sold to a Chinese national for Rs1.7 million under the false promise of marriage. The disturbing claim surfaced after the woman filed a complaint with Rawalpindi police against a local woman identified as Anaya.
According to the police, the victim stated that Anaya approached her with a fabricated story about her parentsโ death and convinced her to marry a Chinese man. The Pakistani woman said she trusted Anaya, believing the marriage would secure her future. However, her life took a shocking turn shortly after the wedding.
In her complaint, she revealed that she later discovered the Chinese man had โpurchasedโ her for Rs1.7 million. Three months into the marriage, the woman, who is now pregnant, asked her husband for money to cover medical expenses. Instead of helping, he allegedly refused and told her he had already paid Rs1.7 million for her and would not spend more.
The Pakistani woman further claimed that Anaya was involved in a larger pattern of trafficking poor girls by arranging fake marriages with foreign nationals. According to the victim, Anaya took her to the E-11 sector of Islamabad, where other Chinese nationals were present. It was there she realized the arrangement was not a real marriage but part of a human trafficking scheme.
The victim said that when she confronted her husband, he openly admitted that Anaya had been paid Rs1.7 million as part of the deal. After this revelation, both the Chinese man and Anaya allegedly vanished, leaving the pregnant woman without support.
