More Than 20,000 Pakistanis Deported to Karachi in 11 Months

KARACHI โ€“ Authorities say a sharp rise has been recorded in the number of Pakistanis deported from different countries during the past year. Official sources confirm that more than 20,000 Pakistani citizens were sent back to the country in the first 11 months of 2025.

According to available data, 20,262 people were deported to Karachi between January and November this year. During the same period last year, the figure stood at 16,461. This shows an increase of over 3,500 cases compared to the previous year.

Officials stated that the highest number of Pakistanis deported came from Gulf countries. A large share of these cases involved individuals sent back from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Both countries remain key destinations for Pakistani travelers seeking work, religious visits, or short-term stays.

Sources revealed that many deportations were linked to violations of visa rules. Several Pakistani nationals traveled to Gulf states on Umrah or visit visas. During checks, authorities found some individuals involved in begging, which violates local laws. As a result, they were detained and later deported.

Officials also pointed to another common reason behind the rising numbers. Many travelers entered foreign countries on visit visas using fake or incomplete documents. Some attempted to move illegally to Europe or other regions. These attempts failed during immigration checks, leading to immediate deportation.

Authorities said such actions not only cause personal hardship but also damage Pakistanโ€™s international image. They stressed that strict immigration rules are enforced worldwide. Any misuse of visas or false documentation results in legal action and removal from the host country.

The increase in Pakistanis deported has raised concerns among policymakers. Experts believe better awareness is needed. Travelers must understand visa conditions before leaving Pakistan. Officials urged citizens to avoid illegal activities abroad and rely only on legal travel channels.

Government departments are reportedly reviewing the situation. Efforts are underway to educate travelers through airports and travel agents. The goal is to reduce future deportations and protect Pakistanis overseas.
