Four bandits were killed during a police operation in the katcha area of Rustam in Shikarpur district, authorities confirmed. The operation, which began yesterday, targeted criminals involved in multiple violent incidents.
According to SSP Shikarpur Shahzeb Chachar, the slain bandits were responsible for firing on a wedding party on Sunday. The attack resulted in the deaths of three people, including the bridegroom. โFour bandits have been killed and 22 people were injured during the operation,โ SSP Chachar said.
Police officials confirmed that the four bandits were wanted for several serious crimes, including murders, robberies, theft, and other violent offenses. Authorities stressed that law enforcement would not tolerate bloodshed linked to tribal rivalries. SSP Chachar warned, โStern action will be taken against people resorting to arms.โ
This recent operation follows another encounter in Shikarpur, where nine bandits were killed near the Manchhar Shah graveyard. During that clash, four police officials, including DSP City Zahoor Soomro, were injured in the shootout. Three of the nine slain outlaws were identified as Shahmore Shaikh, Imdad Shaikh, and Shahzad Shaikh.
Police said that the previously slain bandits were involved in kidnappings for ransom, drug dealing, and other heinous crimes. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order in the district, especially in areas prone to violent tribal conflicts.
Residents of Shikarpur have welcomed the police action, saying it is crucial to curb criminal activities that threaten public safety. Law enforcement officials continue to conduct operations in the region to ensure that armed criminals cannot operate with impunity.
The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, promising swift action against any attempts to disrupt peace. The elimination of these four bandits is seen as a significant step toward restoring security in Rustam and surrounding areas.
