PTI Seeks Authorities’ Help for Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi in Iddat Case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reportedly sought the help of government authorities in the acquittal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Iddat Case. The case had been filed by the government, and PTI’s approach was aimed at securing a favorable outcome for its leaders.

Informed sources said that key PTI figures, including Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, former KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Saif, and Senator Mashal Yousafzai, were aware of the behind-the-scenes contacts in the Iddat Case. When approached, Barrister Gohar and Barrister Saif declined to comment. Senator Mashal also refrained from commenting directly but shared her personal views on the matter.

Senator Mashal described the Iddat Case as “in extremely bad taste” and weak, noting that even though there were divisions among powerful circles, the case lacked merit. She added that Bushra Bibi has always opposed confrontation between the establishment and PTI, emphasizing dialogue and reconciliation over conflict.

Mashal said that a narrative had been deliberately constructed portraying Bushra Bibi as the cause of tensions between PTI and the establishment. She clarified that Bushra Bibi believes disputes should be resolved through negotiation and not confrontation. According to her, certain individuals close to both Imran Khan and the other side are fueling tensions to maintain a rift.

“Bushra Bibi is not a hardliner,” Mashal said. “She strongly supports reconciliation and dialogue in resolving disputes.”

The recent developments in the Iddat Case highlight PTI’s behind-the-scenes efforts to manage political and legal challenges, while key leaders continue to stress dialogue over confrontation.
