Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Pakistan Assan Khidmat Markaz in Islamabad on Thursday to provide convenient services to residents of the Federal Capital.
Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for supporting the establishment of the Markaz. He recalled his recent visit to Baku and said he was impressed by the services offered by Azerbaijanโs Asan Khidmat Markaz.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that institutions such as NADRA, the Foreign Office, and Police will operate from the Assan Khidmat Markaz in Islamabad, providing essential services to the public under one roof.
The premier also announced plans to expand the scope of the Assan Khidmat Markaz to other regions, including Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring wider access for citizens.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on the functioning and services of the center. Officials explained how different departments would coordinate to streamline public service delivery.
The initiative was first announced in September last year, during a meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and SAPSSI Chairman Ulvi Mehdiyev. The collaboration with Azerbaijanโs State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations marked a โnew milestone in Pakistan-Azerbaijan friendship,โ according to a Prime Ministerโs Office statement.
During his visit to Baku, the Prime Minister toured Azerbaijanโs Asan Khidmat Markaz and was inspired by its efficiency and citizen-centric services. He directed Pakistani authorities to replicate the model in Islamabad with Azerbaijani cooperation.
Officials say the Assan Khidmat Markaz aims to reduce bureaucratic delays and improve citizen experience by providing multiple government services at one location.
The center is expected to benefit thousands of residents in Islamabad and serve as a model for future expansion across Pakistan.
