PCB Sells International Broadcasting Rights for PSL 11, Excludes India

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized the international broadcasting rights for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, excluding media rights for India. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, with the playersโ€™ auction set for February 11.

The one-year global media rights deal was awarded to Walee Technologies, which surpassed the PCBโ€™s reserve price with the highest bid. The agreement marks a 149% increase over the previous rights cycle, reflecting the growing international appeal of the PSL.

Salman Naseer, CEO of PSL, welcomed the outcome, stating the sale underscores the leagueโ€™s expanding brand value and commercial strength. โ€œWe are extremely pleased with the outcome of the international media rights sale, which has delivered a remarkable 149% increase over the last cycle,โ€ Naseer said. He added that the growth validates PSLโ€™s quality, competitiveness, and global fan following.

Walee Technologies expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. CEO Muhammad Ahsan Tahir described the deal as a milestone for Pakistani innovation, saying, โ€œThis is a victory for every Pakistani who believes in โ€˜Made in Pakistanโ€™ technology. This is just the start of our PSL journey.โ€

Since its launch in 2016, the PSL has consistently grown its commercial value, with expanding media rights, sponsorships, and digital engagement. The PCB remains focused on delivering an enhanced international broadcast experience, ensuring cricket fans worldwide can enjoy the league on multiple platforms.

The PSLโ€™s rising media rights values demonstrate the leagueโ€™s increasing stature in global T20 cricket, and the PCB aims to continue leveraging international partnerships to expand the leagueโ€™s reach and visibility.
