A private aircraft belonging to Red Bird Aviation experienced a sudden plane crash in Vijayapura district, Karnataka, on Sunday. The crash left both the captain and a trainee pilot injured.

The light aircraft, carrying two people, was traveling from Kalaburagi to Belagavi when it developed an engine fault. The pilot attempted an emergency landing, but the aircraft crash-landed in a farm field in Mangalore village, Babaleshwara area.

Local authorities and police reached the scene soon after the plane crash. Visuals from the site showed the aircraft flipped on its side, with significant damage to the front portion. Both occupants were rescued and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary reports from the investigating officer confirmed that the aircraft suffered an engine malfunction before the crash. The two individuals on board, the captain and a trainee pilot, sustained serious injuries but are currently receiving care at the hospital.
